The older I get the wiser I get? No, the older we get, the more humble we should get....I'm thanking God that he renews my strength like an eagle like David said, I need all the help from angels, prayers, scriptures and grace I can get in life!
But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble." James 4:6
When
a person goes through an illness like cancer, it’s a constant battle that their
body is fighting and it’s not good to go in public where there is a risk of
more infection, because their body is already worn down from fighting the cancer/the
infection. Their resistance is down.
It is same thing in the spiritual realm, if you are fighting a constant battle in the spiritual realm against the enemy, it’s better to be around people who are supportive and will lift you up in prayer than knock you down emotionally. Keep yourself surrounded by encouragers (balcony people) like Barnabas who will pray for you, not those who will put you down.
Aaron and Hur held up Moses hands when they got heavy during the battle – we need to lift a person up in prayer when they are going through a physical or emotional/spiritual battles in life.
As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning. When Moses’ hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up—one on one side, one on the other—so that his hands remained steady till sunset. So Joshua overcame the Amalekite army with the sword. Exodus 17:11-13
Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. James 5:13
The problem with Job’s friends is they put him down when he went through trials rather than lift him up. They were supportive at first, when they sat with them, but then they opened their mouths to condemn him. I would not want to be in a marriage relationship where a spouse put me down rather than lifted me up!
A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity. Proverbs 17:17

This
is different than when it comes to ministry to unbelievers as far as I’m
talking about people we hang out with who are carnal or can drag us down.
I’m not talking about natural things as far as having fun in sports, but
where we get into gossip, slander, lying, faultfinding (judging), or behavior
that can pull us down into the works of the flesh. A negative
spirit/attitude. There is no real “fellowship” if a believer is walking
in darkness. (But if we walk in
the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another,
and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. 1 John 1:7)
Do
not be misled: "Bad company corrupts good character." 1 Cor. 15:33
When
I went to the inner city of Los Angeles mission for Thanksgiving, there were
around 40 drug dealers right across from the mission trying to get the people
standing in line waiting for food to buy drugs. In that situation, it was
like light on one corner of the street and on the opposite corner there was
darkness. In that case I think of the scripture ---where sin abounded ---
grace much more abounded!
Moreover the law entered that the offense might
abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more, Romans 5:20
