Don't Become a Runaway Bride/We Are the Blessing

I was watching the movie 27 Dresses and she talked about the 27 weddings she was bridesmaids for, she always enjoyed looking at the groom and the look he had on his face when he saw his bride on his wedding day. I got goosebumps thinking about when Jesus comes to get us as his Bride. What a glorious day that will be to see Jesus!

There are different interpretations of what some people believe it’s Israel that is actually the Bride of Christ (and the reconciliation of Israel his people) or the Christian church since we are referred to as the Body of Christ. When I look at the parable of the foolish virgins and it also talks about the parable of the wedding feast, it does appear that the bridegroom is Jesus. I believe as Christians it’s very simultaneous when it comes to the wall of enmity was broken down between Gentiles and Jews.

Before I became a Christian, I handmade a wedding dress for my fiancé. After I became a Christian, the Lord gave me several scriptures and even two dreams (one of the dreams was in techno-color that it was the end of the world) to not make amends with my ex-boyfriend.

For some reason the Holy Spirit is like a watch-dog in my life at the times. At times, I walk by faith and other times it’s like the spirit of God is very strong in my life. Same thing happened to another single woman who said she had sent out invitations for her wedding and the Holy Spirit said, “You are not going to marry him.” She said that she found out he had another girlfriend on the side. I was very young and naïve at the time. I wore that wedding dress to get water baptized in, because I knew I was marrying Jesus by that baptism.

Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Galatians 3:13-14

As believers "we" are the blessing. I’ve said it in the past, “I am a blessing everywhere I go—Duet. 28.” I also wake up in the morning and I thank God for this scripture:

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. Ephesians 1:3

But I did not really “get it.” God says that "we" as the Body of Christ are the blessing in this earth. I am the blessing. We are the blessing like Abraham was. When we are taken out of this world, because of the Holy Spirit inside of us–all hell is going to break loose. We, as believers are death to Satan and his evil works in earth. As the body of Christ, we are to put Christ enemies under his feet.

'The Lord said to my Lord: "Sit at my right hand until I put your enemies under your feet."' Matthew 22:44
The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you. Romans 16:20

The last enemy that will be destroyed is death. 1 Cor. 15:26

Satan complained that God blessed the work of Job’s hands. It’s because Job was a blessing.

"Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land. Job 1:10

Bless all his skills, Lord, and be pleased with the work of his hands. Strike down those who rise against him, his foes till they rise no more." Duet. 33:11

thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ's triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere. For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. to the one we are an aroma that brings death; to the other, an aroma that brings life. And who is equal to such a task? 2 Cor. 2:14-16
