Star Trek into Darkness (warning movie spoilers)

Many of the recent movies are preparing us for the coming of the Super Soldier-- Iron Man, Thor from another planet, Captain America, G.I. Joe, the Man of Steel, and now a super soldier from the past, Kahn---is setting the stage for the one who is predicted to come who is the lawless one –he who will do signs and wonders.

The idea of recent movies with a man of super ability/powers ---we are told a man is coming that has super abilities. He will eventually set himself up as God and unlike Christ who came and humbled himself to be a servant. Jesus pointed out that he did not even have a place to lay his head. Jesus could tell us to “take no thought for tomorrow” he did not own anything. Much like Kahn, this man (anti-Christ) will not have mercy and love; he will be arrogant and prideful.

The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie, and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 2 Thess 2:9-10

I thought the movie was good as far as the friendships of the captain and crew members and that captain Kirk laid down his life for his crew (a good captain or a good shepherd lays down his life).

Power in the Blood?

A man’s sinful blood won’t make a difference, but Christ made a difference with his blood because he was not conceived from sinful man. They put Captain Kirk into cryogenics they said because of brain function. In speaking to several widows and one whose husband even drove him into a fire station and they used a defibrillator. Most of us in dealing with someone who dies suddenly realize that brain functions cease within about three minutes so it’s hard to get brain functions back.

That is what is so amazing how Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead after he was stinking in the grave on the fourth day and Jesus also rose from the dead. It says that many people believed after Lazarus was raised from the dead so the leaders were upset about this. I've read that scholars believed he waited until after three days because there is a common belief that a person's spirit hovers over the body for three days.

"Take away the stone," he said. "But, Lord," said Martha, the sister of the dead man, "by this time there is a bad odor, for he has been there four days." John 11:39
Then many of the Jewish people from Jerusalem who had come with Mary and had seen the things Jesus did, believed in him. But some of them went to the Pharisees and reported to them what Jesus had done. John 11:45-46

Jesus appeared to 500 people after he rose from the dead. Of all prophets and religions in the world never had anyone who could raise someone from the dead for so long. Jesus was waiting to show that the spirit could actually leave and he could call it back since “He is the resurrection and the life.”

After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep
1 Cor. 15:6

As Christians, we have access to that same resurrection power and the blood of Jesus through the power of his Holy Spirit working in us.

And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you. Romans 8:11
