Dancing With God's Stars – What Makes God Happy?

I did not see the episode of “Dancing With The Stars” a while back where a couple of celebrities embarrassed themselves on national television. I realize that stars are used to being in the limelight, good and bad with Paparazzi, so they don’t find it disturbing to make a fool out of themselves as the average person does.

When I stand to give an account before the almighty Creator of the universe and He asks me, “Hey Mary, what did you do with the talents I gave you and especially eternal life?” I don’t want to hear back, “You are a wicked and lazy servant.” I’m not really concerned about the wicked part, because I am righteous because of Jesus, but I am concerned about the lazy part as far as using the talents that God has given me.

Embarrassment on public television would be bad enough, but not before the whole universe of people. I want my account before God to be a positive experience. So I understand that Hollywood celebrities can “take the heat” on television. I don’t plan to take the heat before almighty God.

We have the parable of the talents where a person was given a talent but he did not use it, he buried his talent. In the parable he is referred to as the wicked and “lazy” servant. We can be lazy spiritually or lazy physically. (So I was afraid and went out and hid your gold in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.' His master replied, 'You wicked, lazy servant!)

Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically. Romans 12:11

There may be some people who are called to be squatters. Squat down on their church pew for 20 years, but I know my calling is evangelist and has been since I became a Christian at 17 years old and was involved in street evangelism. I’ve tried to sit around my house several times in doing home remodeling projects, watching television or watching grandchildren, and it’s like the walls start caving in, and then I go out and volunteer to share God’s word and it’s an incredible joy, I receive doing that.

I know what makes God happy. What makes God happy is feeding and finding God’s sheep. Jesus asked Peter three times if he loved him more than fishing and then he asked Peter to feed his lambs and feed his sheep. (John 21:15-17)

What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. n the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish. Matthew 18:12-14

I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent. Luke 15:7

Those who lead others to righteousness will shine as the stars. I know it’s not leading them to my righteousness, but the righteousness I found in Jesus Christ who causes me to do the right thing in life.

Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever. Daniel 12:3

Common sense if we don’t do any work, I won’t collect a pay check. If I don’t first plant seed, I won’t get a harvest. Pay day is coming, but there is work to be done in the harvest field.

Swing the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Come, trample the grapes, for the winepress is full and the vats overflow-- so great is their wickedness!" Joel 3:13

He told them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. Luke 10:2

Recently, I had a dream about the lack of winning people to the Lord in the Body of Christ. Many people are leaving it to their church. I know that is God’s clue that I need to get on the stick in my life.
