At Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon during the night in a dream, and God said, "Ask for whatever you want me to give you." 1 King 3:5
God, please, please, please appear to me and ask me whatever I want. I know what the request is for some single guys, they want a 5'2" beautiful brunette, age 40-45, Christian woman. I cleared that up at a single's Bible study that God does not always give us what we want, He gives us what we need.
And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus. Philp. 4:19
I've got my moon request from God covered, because I've asked God for wisdom awhile back.
The Lord was pleased that Solomon had asked for this. So God said to him, "Since you have asked for this and not for long life or wealth for yourself, nor have asked for the death of your enemies but for discernment in administering justice, will do what you have asked. I will give you a wise and discerning heart, so that there will never have been anyone like you, nor will there ever be. Moreover, I will give you what you have not asked for--both riches and honor--so that in your lifetime you will have no equal among kings. And if you walk in my ways and obey my statutes and commands as David your father did, I will give you a long life." 1 Kings 3:6-14
If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. James 1:5
Keep asking God for a 5'2" beautiful brunette, age 40-45 Christian woman, and I'll thank God for wisdom in the affairs of my life.
Sunday evening, I went to a grand finale Karaoke competition and could not get in, because it was over crowed. They wanted to follow the Fire Marshall code. Some people had stood in line hoping that someone would leave, which no one was going to leave. Some people were standing in line for thirty minutes and I got there in ten minutes and everyone was considering leaving. I told the lady in front of us “they should let us in from this point on and then close it to anyone else.” Within five minutes after my statement, the monitors of the event, said “We are going to let all of you in from this point on.” Those were the exact words I used and it came to pass. It’s amazing how our heavenly Father works in our behalf many times instantly and others around me that heard me speak those words were amazed.
Yellow Belly Christians?
Yellow represents caution, it also is a term for being a coward.
Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their forefathers to give them. Joshua 1:6
We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them." Numbers 13:33
If we were bodyguards to the president of the United States, we take the risk of getting shot. This happened to the bodyguards of President John F. Kennedy’s assignation and the attempted assignation of Ronald Reagan. The occupation as a bodyguards is dangerous with a possible ricosheted bullet.
“When the going gets tough, the tough get going" is a popular English proverb.
The phrase is a play on words involving idiomatic and distinct meanings of "go" and "tough." In context, "the going" means "the situation," "gets tough" means "becomes difficult," "the tough" means "people who are strong or enduring," and "get going" means "become fully engaged." Taken together, the meaning of the phrase is "When the situation becomes difficult, the strong will work harder to meet the challenge." The origin of the phrase has been attributed both to Joseph P. Kennedy (1888-1969), father of the USA President John F. Kennedy, and to Norwegian-born American football player and coach Knute Rockne (1888-1931).”
I’ve had a number of friends complain to me about their friends dumping them once they get in a serious relationship and I’ve experienced the same thing. Jesus got dumped in the Garden of Gethsemane by his disciples and Peter denied he knew him three times to save his skin. If someone asked one of my best friends if they knew me, and they denied knowing me to three people, I may have a difficult time believing they are a close friend. God got a hold of his disciples hearts to be more faithful to serve him and laying down their lives for him.
Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. "Could you men not keep watch with me for one hour?" he asked Peter. Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak." Matthew 26:40-41
Mr. Sand Man likes to come along when we are reading our Bibles or praying to put us to sleep. Same with the not being sober minded in life about what is going on in the world. The Christians left Paul also. When the going gets tough, the tough get going…in reality it seems when the going gets tough, everyone starts running.
At my first defense, no one came to my support, but everyone deserted me. May it not be held against them. 2 Timothy 4:16
After my husband passed away, my counselor said I was very hard on myself. You are darn right I’m hard on myself. When someone commits suicide, gets shot and killed, has a heart attack on my watch, I take it personally. It's not business..it's personal. We are in a warfare. Many people rationalize their actions. We find that with Saul. I’m not going to rationalize, I’m wanting to know when Satan has pulled the “wool over my eyes.”
Ezekial 33:6 But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet to warn the people and the sword comes and takes the life of one of them, that man will be taken away because of his sin, but I will hold the watchman accountable for his blood.
Some people have dreams, because they ate too much pizza, but almost all of my dreams have been prophetic that I can remember like Joseph and Daniel in the Bible. That is a gift that God has given me since the time I asked him into my heart at the age of 17 years old. The hardest fact I have to swallow in losing my husband is that I had a dream a few months earlier that I was in his sports car with him and he drove his sports car into a lake with me in the car, he was drowning, I rolled the car window down and pulled him out of the car and saved his life. What is peculiar is that he had gone to the lake when his sports car broke down and I had to come rescue him and pick him up in Bloomington and that is when his heart attack symptoms first occurred with indigestion. I missed it in not making him go to the hospital and getting checked out right then. He went the next day for colonoscopy procedure and did not get his heart fully checked with a cath, he only had a heart monitor.
The watchman opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out, John 10:3
When I fail to perceive something as a warning like that dream and my husband is going to have a heart attack or I miss the boat and it costs someone their life as a watchman on the wall, it can be incredibly hard to swallow because it has affected me, his children, his family and many others in life. I thought the interpretation of the dream was a family dispute that I had to save him about and that the dream already was fulfilled.
Pilate’s wife warned her husband because of her dream about Jesus, but all Pilate did was “wash his hands.” Pilate’s wife's dream was a warning to Pilate, but he did not change his actions much. I’m not sure why in my dream I saved my husband, because in real life I did not.
While Pilate was sitting on the judge's seat, his wife sent him this message: "Don't have anything to do with that innocent man, for I have suffered a great deal today in a dream because of him." Matthew 27:19
The sleep of death (below scripture) is a place we can get in our Christian walk where we are self-deceived into not seeing certain things in our lives or our walk with God. These are seeing danger signs along the road of life. I know that some Christians don’t question what they do. I ask God in life for everything that happens and things I do every day. I don’t want to keep driving down some road picking up more nails in my tires when those nails don’t belong in my tires. I’ll change roads if that is what God wants me to do. If God wants a course correction in my life I’ll make a course correction. I don’t want to be sailing into rocks or be like the Titanic going full steam ahead into some iceberg, because they did not believe it would sink. The Titanic sank.
Consider and answer me, O LORD my God; light up my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death. Psalm 13:3
One of the advantages of having the gift of prophesy is the ability to help others. I had a dream as a young believer that I was going to have an accident. I prayed about it. Within a week or two of that dream I fell when I was six months pregnant with my first child and ran my hand through a plate glass door. I know the accident could have been worse, but I had that dream and prayed to thwart the devil's plan. Same way with my daughter's car accident a few months ago. I woke up and had a check in my spirit to pray for my children's protection. Her car was totaled, but she only had her hand bruised. Someone happened to be driving by her car and got her cell phone and she called me and I was able to get to the hospital and pray for her hand before she went into have it x-rayed.
Paul had a perception that they were going to lose their ship in a voyage. Acts 27: 10 "Men, I can see that our voyage is going to be disastrous and bring great loss to ship and cargo, and to our own lives also." Acts 27:25 So keep up your courage, men, for I have faith in God that it will happen just as he told me.
In my life, I've had a couple of acquaintances that committed suicide. After the fact I always thought "if only" I could have had some warning in my spirit to know this person was experiencing this type of depression I could have done something. One was a sweet Christian brother who came to a Bible study my husband and I were leading and one was a boss where I was working as a temp who was kind to take me out to lunch one day. I found later that she had committed suicide, just as we found out later what happened to this Christian brother when we called him one day to see why we had not seen him, and spoke to his sister.
"At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish and five were wise. The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. The wise, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps. The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep. At midnight the cry rang out: 'Here's the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!' Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. The foolish ones said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.' 'No,' they replied, 'there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.' But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut. Matthew 25:5-10
