Satan Knows My Phone Number
Satan likes to distort the truth. I like an example a minister gave on putting your face through a computer distortion and it looks all blurry. It’s like going to the state fair and looking in those Fun House mirrors. Satan will try to distort our views of God in our life. Here is an example of a distortion:
When I was dating, I asked my fiancé to wake me up in the morning, because my alarm clock was not working. At the exact hour he was supposed to wake me up, I had an obscene phone call. I asked my fiancé why he did not wake me up, and he said he over slept his alarm. Anyway, I questioned why I got an obscene phone call. I believe it is because the devil heard me say to my fiancé to call and wake me up and he was trying to deceive me that God uses the devil to do his bidding. I heard one minister say that we can have an internal time clock that wakes us up every morning from God, and we don’t need to depend on a regular time clock. I believe this is true because many times God wakes me up before my alarm goes off, and I remember waking up right before the obscene phone call. What’s even worse it ministered fear to me because I was a single woman living in a new apartment and I just got my phone installed that day.
When the guy said a bunch of obscene things to me I told him “You need to accept Jesus Christ into your heart” and he hung up. The only person who knew my new phone number was my fiancé and the phone company man. I prayed and bound that spirit of fear from attacking me.
Satan sows doubts in our minds against God and his goodness and that God uses Satan. Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. James 1:17
God does not need the devil and he is going to chained up along with the other angels that fell. And the angels who did not keep their positions of authority, but abandoned their own home--these he has kept in darkness, bound with everlasting chains for judgment on the great Day. Jude 1:6
Satan knows his time is short, so he is taking his wrath out on man with disasters, sickness and other heartaches in life:
Therefore rejoice, you heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has gone down to you! He is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short." Revelations 12:12
In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, 2 Timothy 3:12
In fact…folks it’s a fact….want (desire) to live godly….suffer persecution! Job wanted to live godly. It was Satan who tested Job. Satan’s goal was not just to take Job’s family and belongings, but to rob Job of his fellowship with God by getting Job to curse God. Job 1:11 But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.
It’s Satan who is the thief! The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep." (John 10:10-11)

Even Satan spoke through Job’s wife to curse God. His wife said to him, "Are you still holding on to your integrity? Curse God and die!" Job 2:9
Jesus warned: Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life. Revelations 2:10

As we go through tribulation and struggles, God wants to show himself strong in our lives to unbelievers. God can turn around trials in our lives to work for good like he did for Joseph as we allow him to. He is the strength of our lives. We know that God does not always supernaturally intervene in situations and he allows things to happen in our lives. That is where I believe most of the confusion is. I’ll talk more about God’s intervention in the next blog.
God long suffers his vessels of wrath. He knew Pharoah was going to harden his heart, because Pharoahs think they are God. What if God, choosing to show his wrath and make his power known, bore with great patience the objects of his wrath--prepared for destruction? Roman 9:22
God’s power was a testimony to the nations around Egypt that he was God. God also showed Egypt that he truly was the one and only true God. Pharaoh's chariots and his army he has hurled into the sea. The best of Pharaoh's officers are drowned in the Red Sea. Exodus 15:4
Who is The Fastest Trigger?
In the movie Back to the Future, Marty McFly travels into the past in his DeLorean car time machine to find his friend Doc Emmett Brown. He gets himself in a gunfight with Buford “Mad Dog” Tannen, because he does not like to be called chicken or yellow belly. Remember my blog on yellow belly Christians?
I always enjoyed watching Westerns shows on television with my parents mostly John Wayne. I like it when the guy rides into town, gets off his horse with the guns on each side of his hips. Who is the fastest trigger in the west? My favorite woman of the West was Annie Oakley growing up. Now as an adult, the Matrix is even better when Neo pulls out all those machine guns and Trinity and him go into rescue Morpheus who is being held captive by Agent Smith in a skyscraper. Now Trinity is my favorite woman. Agent Smith knows how to replicate himself into other agents. I've already found Neo (the man who overcame the programming of this world to defeat Agent Smith). His name is Jesus Christ. Like Trinity, I like to get out the big guns. I'm trading in my six-shooter I carried playing cowboys and Indians as a little girl. It's shoot Satan with the machine gun of God's word. The Lord told me it’s not just rebuking him, use the scripture against him like Jesus did. It takes giving him multiple shootings.
What I believe is that if you stand your ground and resist the devil enough in your life, eventually he will flee. I turn my garbage over to Jesus, rather than hang on to it so I'm submitting to God. The one thing I found out recently about the homeless is that they carry all their baggage around with them in one garbage bag. I find a lot of Christians carry their baggage around with them rather than give it to God.
When I was in a full-time Christian ministry as a young teen, we lived in tents and campers and a divorced girlfriend and I happened to have our tents next to Swedish married couples with our children who were teasing each other and smooching on each other. We could hear it each night. She made a comment to me how it bothered her that they were next to us. Sometimes it could be rather tormenting to me also (depending how I looked at it) because I had given up my boyfriend who was a non-Christian, and I was not married. Then again, other times it was rather sweet. It encouraged me that one day in my future, I could be in a sweet Christian relationship with a husband.
Marriage was God’s idea to fulfill our needs for intimacy and companionship with the opposite sex, and God said it was not good for man to be alone. Our pastor is teaching on sex, and he brought up that marriage is entering a covenant. When a man has an erection, it is because of blood and when a woman is a virgin, blood is shed. A man and woman enter into the covenant of marriage through sexual intercourse. The marriage is consummated.

There are things in my life I've gone through I would call periods of “noticing” good or bad. When I was dating my husband I noticed every Jeep Cherokee on the street, because I was in love with him and that is the car he drove. When I was pregnant, I noticed other pregnant women, when I had twin daughters, I noticed other women with twins babies in the grocery stores or shopping malls, when I bought my new Equinox SUV, I noticed that model that was different colors. When I lost my husband I noticed elderly couples together and now it’s mostly couples my age. I’m noticing what I don’t have.
Or do you think Scripture says without reason that the spirit he caused to live in us envies intensely? But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble." Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:5-7
What I have found is Satan's main occupation is garbage collector. He will give us a bad thought and come to collect it. One time I had a thought that the health care field was a secure place to work and than my manager’s position was cut and so was mine during re-engineering. Before I lost my job, I had a dream that was a warning my job was going to be cut. It still worked out for my good later, because eventually, I went to work for colleges where it was easier to take classes for my degree. It also gave me more networking opportunities to meet other people in life. During the time I lost my job, it was difficult to find the correct job and direction in my life, and I went through three or four jobs I was unhappy with.
I find that at times in my life I am lost to what God wants me to do. Sometimes the path is clear than other times my life it's like a ship sailing, I lose God's direction/compass in my life. During those times of being lost, I spend it in prayer and God's word to wait on God for further confirmations and direction. For fifteen years, I was on a course with my husband and raising a family, making plans with him. There have been times in my life I know I've delighted God's heart, and that is the most rewarding of all experiences in my life. Than there are times that God stirs up my nest and puts a restlessness, (puts thorns in my nest) because He wants me to change direction in life.
I like the song below by Casting Crowns, because the song talks about our life being a song to God.
I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Philip 3:14
I started listening to the Bible on CD every night and it has made quite a difference in my life. I also thank God that I have sorrow in my life, because I had a great relationship with my husband for 15 years. So instead of dreading seeing those couples everywhere I go, I’m thanking the Lord that I had such a great relationship that I tremendously miss my husband each time it bothers me. I was expecting God to “zap” me and take away the sorrow, and it did not happen that way in my life. I raise up a standard against Satan in my life through thanking God through those times of sorrows and during special occasions, and that God gave me such a wonderful person that I miss him. In that way, I'm doing the will of God for now in my life. pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thess 5:17-18
So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him. Isaiah 59:19
I had a dream recently that I "really" missed my husband. We were not married, and he was a new relationship for me, but I wanted to get serious with him. I was desperate to see him again right away. I asked all my friends for his phone number, but no one knew his phone number. I was very "anxious" about seeing him again. In my dream, I was going to have to wait a couple of days to see him. I know that is symbolic that although I miss my husband like crazy that whatever time I have left on this earth is a drop in the bucket compared to the next life (it's only a couple of days in comparison). My nephew and I were talking about that when I lost my sister at age 61 to lung cancer. When we see our loved ones again in heaven, it will be as if no time lapsed. Our concept of time on earth is a lot different compared to eternity where there is no time. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. Hebrews 13:8

For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 2 Cor. 4:17
Lifesong by Casting Crowns
Empty Hands held high
Such Small sacrifice
If not joined with my life
I sing in vain tonight
May the words I say
And the things I do
Make my lifesong sing
Bring a smile to you
Chorus:
Let my lifesong sing to You
Let my lifesong sing to You
I want to sign your name
to the end of this day
Knowing that my heart was true
Let my lifesong sing to You
Lord, I give my life
A Living sacrifice
To reach a world in need
To be your hands and feet
So may the words I say
And the things I do
Make my lifesong sing
Bring a smile to You
Chorus
Hallelujah, Hallelujah,
Let my lifesong sing to You
