There are some missions in life that are “unlucky” missions. For Joseph, his
father sent him to check up on his brothers (bad idea). With the jealousy of
his step-brothers, it did not fare well in his life. He was thrown in a pit,
then his brothers wanted to kill him, but one of his brothers (Judah)
interceded on his behalf. Thank God for one brother who interceded. Sometimes
we may just have favor with one person in a group. Then he was sold into
slavery and he had favor with his master, but because of favor with his
master’s wife (her sexual advances), he was thrown in jail.
David’s mission from his father to bring food to his brother’s went a little better in that he killed a giant, but had the same results later when twice Saul tried to kill him. David was a little more persistent with staying in the palace –it would have been wise to leave after the first javelin thrown at him, and again Saul was jealous of David. David had favor with Jonathon (Saul’s son) who helped him escape in a basket. David spent several years than running from Saul.
Jealousy will short-circuit favor in a person’s life. David talked about how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity. Psalm 133:1
One thing I noticed when it comes to God’s blessings there seems to be “holding” back at times. When I started interviewing for a roommate the quality of people was very low at first, and I kept getting men that were calling me. I realized, I was going to have to be like Daniel and persevere in prayer.
When people say that God allows things, God heard Daniel’s prayer 21 days prior to the delivery of the prayer request, but Michael came to tell Daniel that the Prince of Persia was holding back the answer to his prayer.
The same example was given by Jesus about a widow who kept coming to the unjust judge. She did not get her request from the judge the first time, she had to keep coming back again and again with the request and then Jesus said, “Men ought always to pray and not give up hope (or faint). Luke 18:1-8
When the scripture says, “wait on the Lord” he will renew your strength, part of this “waiting” is through being persistent in prayer. It’s the prayer of perseverance and thanking God he has heard our prayer request and we keep thanking Him.
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. Ephesians 6:18
When it says “No good thing will he withhold to those who walk uprightly. Psalms 84:11” It’s not God doing the withholding. I had a dream that I had money in my right hand and evil man was stabbing me with a sword to take my money. I realized that Satan has been attacking my finances – was holding up my blessings in getting renters to live with me, thieves coming in my basement, attacks on my cars (had a deer run out in front of me) and also had the transmission went out because they filled the transmission up with too many quarts. I got the mechanic to pay me back that loss.
Like I got the mechanic to pay me back for his mistake, we can ask that the thief in life (Satan) pay us back seven times what he has stolen from us. “Satan get off my finances, get off the affairs of my life, get off my body, get of my children, I bind you in the name of Jesus.” Furthermore, since I am the temple of God, and belong to God, get off’s God’s body, God's property, God's children.”
If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. Romans 14:8
Children are a heritage blessing of the Lord and the fruit of the womb his his reward. Psalm 127:3
The daughter of Abraham was bent over 18 years (sounds like arthritis) and it said that Satan had her bound and yet she was a godly woman.
Then should not this woman, a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has kept bound for eighteen long years, be set free on the Sabbath day from what bound her?" Luke 13:16
Or again, how can anyone enter a strong man's house and carry off his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man? Then he can rob his house. Matthew 12:29

Had
a scripture tonight on my way to a Bible study and that was that if your hands
are on a plow---you can't be grabbing anything to take with you, because you
are too busy plowing and keeping your hands on the plow! (Jesus replied,
"No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in
the kingdom of God." Luke 9:62)
So although things in this life like finances can be under attack, we can't take anything with us except people if we use our finances to win others to Christ ( I tell you, use worldly wealth to gain friends for yourselves, so that when it is gone, you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings. Luke 16:9)
