My
best victories in life have come through prayer, even the small ones. I was
recently trying to sell a clarinet on Craig's List and I have had many people
stand me up on Craig's List or come and not buy items when I showed them to
them so
this time I prayed, and I kept wanting to say, "I hope I sell this."
It was a struggle to say, "God I thank you that my clarinet is sold."
It was a struggle (a strong resistance) to believe I received when I prayed--I
know the enemy has been coming against me on financial things.
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Mark 11:24

Now faith
is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Hebrews 11:1
Not only did I sell that clarinet, but I met a sweet pastor's wife that I believe is going to be a good friend.
When I wanted two roommates in my house, I kept getting unstable financial people who came to my house I interviewed, so I asked the Indian Creek church elders to put me on their prayer list and immediately I started getting quality renters -- at that time I needed some help in praying like Moses got help from Aaron and Hur who lifted up his hands. Exodus 17:11-13. My two roommates are the best that moved in my home in October. Daniel learned persistent in prayer and it took 21 days to get his prayer request through to God.
I always wanted to go to Hawaii all my life. I told everyone that was my dream vacation. With my husband and I raising six children, it looked like an impossibility financially, until one day we were driving to Chicago to visit my son, and his manager at work called up and said a vendor offered him a 5-day trip to Hawaii, but his wife did not want to go. He said that he thought of us. The vendor paid the airfare, hotel, had breakfast and dinner, and they gave us $200 in spending money. I'm glad God did that nice trip for us before he passed away two years later. All our other trips were usually focused with children and family so it was a nice get away where I just had time with him once in our life!
The last five years, I've had several dreams about fighting evil men. I had a dream right after I married my husband that evil men had surrounded our home and they were pointing guns at our house. I believe those were the outside forces in life that tried to break up our marriage, but there is also a term called "boxing in." Boxing in military warfare is when you box the enemy in and then you wipe them out one by one. We are in a spiritual warfare. The church is like a sleeping giant that needs to wake up.
Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruning hooks into spears. Let the weakling say, "I am strong!" Joel 3:10
David had the victory in his spirit man before he even fought Goliath.
This day the Lord will hand you over to me, and I'll strike you down and cut off your head. Today I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds of the air and the beasts of the earth, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel. 1Samuel 17:46
There are some enemies in life I don't like to fight. When I was in college Visual Basic programing was hard -- I got the victory over Visual Basic and understanding object-oriented programming. Raising seven teenagers was a hard battle in my life. Health issues are hard at times. I do not particularly enjoy getting a root canal I had done two weeks ago when a tooth broke. Scuba diving was hard at first because I almost drowned at four years old under a raft. I overcame the fear of drowning by holding my breath a long time under water, but we can't hold our breath in scuba diving.
I did not like to fight the enemy of divorce and I don't like to fight the enemies of the death of many loved ones in my life, but I know the victory is in Christ -- like David had has been standing on God's word, saying God's word, thanking God for the victory, but most of all it's been a continual prayer and praise going on in my life. It's thanking God that I am more than a conqueror - has nothing to do with what I see, feel or circumstances, but it's because His word says I am.

The
greater one lives inside of me and He (not me) is capable of facing any giants
that can come against me today.
