God actually heals whatever way he wants to, but most of the time in
the Bible Jesus said, "Be it unto you according to your faith." One man
was healed because of his friends faith in letting him down through a
roof. We are told that God sent his word (Jesus) which is our healing
and meditation on God’s word brings healing.
He sent out his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave. Psalm 107:20
My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen carefully to my words.
Don't lose sight of them. Let them penetrate deep into your heart, for
they bring life to those who find them, and healing to their whole body.
Proverbs 4:20-22
Except for the man who was lying at the pool.
Jesus asked him, "Do you want to be made whole?" The guy did not even
answer "Yes." He made some lame excuse about how there was no one to
put him in the pool and when he tried to get there when an angel stirred
the waters that another person beat him. Interesting enough Jesus told
him to "Take up his bed and walk." Jesus gave him an action to do and
he got all the Jewish religious leaders mad for healing on the Sabbath
day. Jesus had a way of not following man's programs.
It's
rather interesting but when I became a Christian, I was around 18 years
old when my father had a kink in his colon and he was in excruciating
pain. When my dad went in for surgery he had an x-ray first and the
technician dropped him on the table and then there was no kink in his
colon when they took the x-ray. Well, if God moves in mysterious ways,
I'm fine that my father believed the technician did him a favor rather
than my sister and I and my sister's church praying for him, but
whatever way God wants to heal, Praise God my dad did not need surgery
and he lived to see the age of 77 years old.
When Jesus saw
him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a
long time, he asked him, "Do you want to get well?" Sir," the invalid
replied, "I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is
stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of
me." Then Jesus said to him, "Get up! Pick up your mat and walk." t once
the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked. The day on which
this took place was a Sabbath, and so the Jewish leaders said to the man
who had been healed, "It is the Sabbath; the law forbids you to carry
your mat." John 5:6-10
