Is God an Egomaniac? Part 2 Evolution..Why Are We Not the Fantastic Four Yet?

Faith in Other Religions, Evolution or Jesus Christ

There is controversy if we only use 10% of our brains and then 90% is not used.  They do brain scans on various individuals to determine how much activity is going on in our brains.  What medical knowledge has determined that if the brain is damaged it usually is unfunctional.  Some people have been able to use another part of their brain to relearn motor skills, but this is a small minority with a brain injury.   Usually, a person will not be able to get back what has been damaged.  In other words, the brain is not very forgiving/flexible if damaged or hurt.  The heart, another major organ is the same way.

As humans, we have not evolved much over the years except in the knowledge of technology which the Bible states that “knowledge will increase.”  We live longer with the control of diseases and vaccines, but we have not evolved into super beings in this natural body like the movie The Fantastic Four.

But you, Daniel, close up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge." Daniel 12:4

I met a pregnant young woman who told me that her husband would probably lose his job because every time she gets pregnant he loses a job.  She has faith, but her faith is in a negative happening.  It takes a type of  faith to believe in Evolution since there are no transitional fossils.  Plants, animals and people are not evolving for the better, on the contrary we decay, grow old and die.  I have the hardest time keeping my plants alive.  I have friends who have a better “green thumb” than I do.  Man is stripping the planet of resources. Through science and research we still have not eliminated growing old and dying.  We love our plants, animals and people, but they die.  Also, there is mold, rust and corruption in the world.  It’s hard to keep precious antiques from decaying.

Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. Matthew 6:19

Scientist can’t come up with an explanation of why we grow old and die, because our body rejuvenates itself:

“The body renews its structure, in a very uneven manner....you see, water is completely rechanged in average every 96 hours, bones take much longer (up to 11 years...tissues will change structures according with its rate of cell production, for example, liver cells, will change entirely in about 2,4 years, meanwhile the cells of the intestinal wall, and the outer layer of the skin, are exchanged daily.....If you take an average for all the tissues in the body, it will sum about 5.6 years....in children up to ages 7-9 years, the renewal average is shorter (because the metabolism is faster)..is about 2,9 years..in a guy of 60 years of older, the exchange takes longer, up to 6.7 years....so, it’s also a matter of age and good nutrition....not an easy issue. The seven years thing, is an urban legend....”

The Bible explains that death and decay is because of one man Adam who brought a curse on this world.  Jesus Christ paid the price on the cross to redeem us from this curse.

Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned--  Nevertheless, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those who did not sin by breaking a command, as did Adam, who was a pattern of the one to come. But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God's grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many! Roman 5:14-15

Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree."  Galatians 3:13

Our physical bodies are still going to die but we won’t die spiritually if we know Jesus Christ as our Lord and savior because he will free us from the second death and he told Mary at the tomb of Lazarus that "he is the resurrection and the life."   Jesus rose Lazarus from the dead after three days and his body was already decaying.  Lazarus still died again a physical death later.

Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?"  John 11:25-26

Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire. Revelation 20:14-15

We see that there are no changes of evolution as far as why are not we progressing as people physicallyI believe I should have grown some wings and fly by now.  Is that any different than changing from a monkey to a man over time?  At least they pick the Chimpanzee rather than other monkeys with a tail.  I do question at times if some people came from apes.  I can understand it as a concept only of how the monkey is running and then at some period of time it changes into a man, but I personally think I should be flying by this time of my life.  My dad was a pilot and we had a small airplane when I was growing up so I may have some “Wright Brother’s blood in me.  No ape blood dwells in my veins.  I’ve got some eagle blood in me so I’m going to start checking for those wings sprouting every morning.

but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.  Isaiah 40:31

It takes faith to believe in God and accept his son, Jesus. Without faith it is impossible to please God.  So apparently we can please God.  The faith is taking a step to ask Jesus Christ into your life.  When I was a teenager I was checking out different eastern religions, but I prayed that God would show me if he was real and lead me to the right path.  Circumstances, i.e. some of my friends who became Christians and an inner guidance lead me to accept Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and savior.

Hebrews 11:6 "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

I don’t understand why we can please God since as an supreme entity He is a whole being, but apparently as His creation we can be pleasing or  displeasing.  Cain’s offering was not pleasing to God and Abel’s was, but God told Cain if he continued to do right he would be acceptable, but Cain chose to murder his brother.

You will be accepted if you do what is right. But if you refuse to do what is right, then watch out! Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you. But you must subdue it and be its master." Now Cain said to his brother Abel, "Let's go out to the field." And while they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him. Genesis 4:7-8

I believe as we look at our relationship with children we can understand that there are times our children bring joy and other times our children don’t bring us joy in what they do and say.  You love the children whether they bring you joy or not.  Mothers and fathers cheer their son and daughter at sporting events.  They are excited when their children get dressed up for the prom. We are excited when our children do well in school and in college.  We are imperfect parents, but we get excited about our children and our Heavenly Father is the same way, he is excited about blessing us:

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. James 1:17

If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!  Matthew 7:11

The problem is most of us have the word of God is our heads, not in our hearts.  When it gets in our hearts is when we start seeing results in our lives.

But what does it say? "The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart," that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: Romans 10:8
No, a man is a Jew if he is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a man's praise is not from men, but from God. Romans 2:29

God deals to every man a measure of faith.  When we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and savior it’s like God dealt us a deck of cards and one of those cards in the deck is faith.

Romans 12:3 "For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith."

God is moved by faith and answers to prayer comes by the measure of faith in our hearts we have. Faith is a powerful force.  I do agree with Yoda on Star Wars, “powerful Jedi, powerful Jedi” is one who learns how to use faith in his/her life. David used his faith to conquer a nine foot tall giant:

1 Samuel 17:45 David said to the Philistine, "You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the LORD Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.  This day the LORD will hand you over to me, and I'll strike you down and cut off your head. Today I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds of the air and the beasts of the earth, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel.  All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the LORD saves; for the battle is the Lord's, and he will give all of you into our hands."

God’s word was in David’s heart and mouth.   Many Christians have God's word in their head, but not in their heart and they don't speak God's word out of their mouth.  Probably because of fear what others think they have become fanatical.  Sometimes we can be ashamed of the Lord.  I went through Starbucks drive through and this one man handed me my mocha and asked me what I was doing that night.  I was too ashamed to say that I was going to a Bible study.  When I drove away I heard that scripture in my mind, "If you are ashamed of me, I will be ashamed of you."  I asked for the Lord's forgiveness and the next time I went through Starbucks and the same guy asked where I was going I told him I was going to a Bible study.

If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his Father's glory with the holy angels." Mark 8:38

We are to renew our minds to God’s word from this world’s programming and have God’s word in our mouths.

He replied, "Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." Matthew 17:20. Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and it will be done. Matthew 21:21

Paul warned over and over about a spirit of anti-Christ.  I find many more anti-Christ spirits in the world, i.e. new-age philosophy and other religions.  People oppose prayer in school, the ten commandments posted at the courthouses, taking the name Christmas out to say holiday at this time of the year.   When I sit down at a table at a restaurant, I like to pray out loud at the table.  Much like Daniel as far as being an example to those who don’t know God that you believe in prayer.

Who is the liar? It is the man who denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a man is the antichrist--he denies the Father and the Son. No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also.1 John 2:22-23

This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world. 1 John 4:2

As Christians, we need to be bolder about our testimony and witness for the Lord.  It is the spirit of anti-Christ that tries to get us to shut up and not be a more powerful witness of the gospel.  I want to do more for Jesus so if police or someone needed to know if there is enough evidence to convict me of being a Christian, there is plenty of evidence by what is in my house, what I do and how I live my life.

The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion. Proverbs 28:1

Satan wanted the body of Moses so we can assume since many religions were started by a prophet that if Satan would have gotten Moses, he would have caused many to worship him since Moses was a famous leader of the Hebrews.  It's Satan who wants to discredit on how powerful Jesus is.  He has nothing to fear from people worshipping other religions.  It's the name of Jesus that demons and Satan fears.

But even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses, did not dare to bring a slanderous accusation against him, but said, "The Lord rebuke you!" Jude 1:9

When Peter saw Elijah and Moses come down on the mount of transfiguration Peter suggested building a tabernacle to worship them along with Jesus.  God spoke that Jesus was his son who he loved, he was well pleased and to “listen to him” on the mount of transfiguration.

After six days Jesus took with him Peter, James and John the brother of James, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. There he was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light. Just then there appeared before them Moses and Elijah, talking with Jesus. Peter said to Jesus, "Lord, it is good for us to be here; if You wish, I will make three tabernacles here, one for You, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah." While he was still speaking, a bright cloud enveloped them, and a voice from the cloud said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!"  Matthew 17:2

When Jesus was baptized by John there was a voice from heaven: And a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased."  Matthew 3:17
