My daughter’s friend from Australia complimented me on my Dolce and Gabbana purse. I bought the designer purse that originally sells for $240.00 for $60.00. My daughter had a vendor who was selling Coach purses for the same price. The bag is starting to wear some, but I like to cut corners and get designer purses and not pay full price.
My husband liked to take our boat to a garage mechanic to repair it, but he put on car parts instead of boat parts so I ended up spending more money to fix the same boat parts over again. I now take the boat to a professional. Same thing happened to me one time when I took my Ford Windstar van to get it fixed at a car mechanic who put the wrong vacuum hoses on it. It caused serious problems in having my van engine run properly, until an authorized Ford dealer fixed it.
We cut corners many times to save money, but God did not cut corners. The temple that Solomon built, Solomon spared no expense. God sent his son into the world and God sent His best.
He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all--how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Romans 8:32
The first Jurassic Park movie they were sitting around eating ice cream and people were dying and being attacked by dinosaurs and the woman makes a comment how wonderful the ice cream was. The head of the theme park makes the same comment over and over and he says, “We spared no expense.” It is hard to appreciate the Jurassic theme park manager “spared no expense” when people are having their arms and legs torn off and eaten by dinosaurs.
God sent Jesus to be born in a stable with animal dung rather than the Ritz Hotel. He was severely beaten, mocked, kicked and suffered on the cross so we individually can be back in union with God like Adam and Eve knew God. God sent his son to die for his worst enemy. I can't imagine letting my son or daughter die for my worst enemy. The scripture above says that God spared no expense like the Jurassic theme park manager. Jesus paid the full price for our sins. It's easy to forget that God spared no expense when you are running from dinosaurs in your life.
You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Romans 5:6
C.S. Lewis wrote that losing his wife to death was like losing his right arm and having a stub to always remind him it was missing. I’m speaking for every woman out there is that when a dinosaur tears our arm off in life, we want our arm back. Our arm is valuable. A woman's purse is valuable.
I know a person whose purse was stolen at work and she lost her new iphone with all the addresses and phone numbers on it, her car keys and her house keys. She had to change her bank account and her locks on her house. It also stole her peace of mind. She now has the “jitter bugs at work and is cautious around every corner.” Her purse was returned by someone who found it and she had compassion because her purse was stolen in the past. She did not get the iphone and some of the other contents back. It took three minutes to go to the bathroom and have her purse stolen. A purse is like a woman’s identity and she is trying to get her life back.
Someone broke into my new minivan and stole my husband’s wallet and watch under the seat when we were swimming at an Indy Park swimming pool in the summer. The police said it takes less than three minutes to break in the van. It took my peace of mind since they had my husband’s driver’s license that they could break in our house next. It also took a couple years to replace the lock they damaged without paying full price to the lock smith. I had to wait for more of those models to be common at junk yards to get a better deal on the replacement lock.
It took less than three minutes for my husband to die of a massive heart attack. Like losing her purse, a van broken into or losing my spouse to a physical ailment, life can change/happen very fast. The movie where they stole expensive cars was Gone in 60 Seconds. Only the purse, the wallet/watch, and my husband was gone in three minutes! In the book of James it compares our life on earth as a mist that vanishes.
Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. James 4:14
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. John 10:10
When your arm is ripped off a replacement arm is not going to be the same. I know a woman who had knee replacement surgery because she was born with bad knees. If you have a thief steal something out of your house, you notify the insurance company and they will replace it, but they will take out a deduction. It’s your choice to turn into the insurance company. You may decide they will raise your rates. Everyone determines when they have losses if they are going to get a replacement. For a small fender bender, I know people don’t want to turn some losses in for a replacement. That is a person's choice when they have a loss in life if they decide to turn the loss in.
We can’t really replace people in life; those are treasures God has in heaven and he is taking care of those treasures for me, my parents, grandparents, sister, husband and other friends and relatives I have lost throughout life. I had two natural abortions that occurred in my life. They were where the baby got sick inside of my womb and died. My husband was a natural abortion as far as his body got sick and died. There are elective abortions where a woman aborts the life that was caused by a union of that relationship and there are elective abortions of marriage where at least one person aborts the dream of the union of that marriage and it ends in divorce. I could not control my body from having a natural abortion, my husband's body aborting this life or control another person's will to love me in a marriage.
God has His own warranty plan as an assurance adjustor for loss. For my sister and parents, he gave me wonderful in-law parents and a sister-in-law. When I had the first natural abortion I had twins right after the death of my first baby who died at six weeks in my womb. After the death of my fourth baby, my daughter Sandy was born and she has been a great blessing in my life. My husband was a great blessing after divorce. I believe it's an individual decision to follow God's word and let Him restore what losses we have in life.
Job prospered again and received twice as much after his faith was tested. God does a better job of replacing loss than we can. We can’t control natural abortions whether they be sickness due to death or the sickness of an ill marriage that ended in divorce. Whenever I lost a job, a relationship, finances, or material thing, I’ve asked God to replace that loss. God can repay us. I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten--the great locust and the young locust, the other locusts and the locust swarm--my great army that I sent among you. Joel 2:25
Lot’s wife lacked vision for her future that God was able to bring her into something better than Sodom and Gomorrah. She looked back because she lacked vision for a road in life up ahead. God can give us a vision of the future.
Where there is no prophetic vision the people cast off restraint, but blessed is he who keeps the law. Proverbs 29:18
So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don't fall! 1 Cor. 10:12
for anger gives a foothold to the devil. Ephesians 4:27
Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be. Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? My brothers, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water. Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. James 3:10-13
Moses put his rod into the water and he turned the bitter water sweet with his rod so God’s word can change a person with a bitter heart to a sweet heart. But only God word does that. I learned my lesson with dating someone who I thought I could help with their problems and all they did was keep attacking me with their words, because they had such a low self esteem. I prayed about a breakup of a relationship and the Lord said it is never his will that the human heart suffers it's one person that has hardened their heart and that is why marriages break up.
Jesus replied, "Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning. Matthew 19:8
I find the secret wishing well is delighting in the Lord and He has told me that I have to give him time for his “warranty policy” to take effect. When we humble ourselves by prayer and seeking God's face, God exalts us.
Then he continued, "Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them. Daniel 10:12
Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up. James 4:10
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. 1 Peter 5:6

God wants us to keep a tender heart towards him and others. Whenever I think I'm doing well in life than I know I need to “take heed least I fall.” That is the time I really need to be seeking his face because I can fall from pride. I’ve had to deal with people’s prideful attitudes and I know that a fall is around the corner for them. We humble ourselves under the hand of God if we want to be exalted in due time. It’s not God that punishes us for pride but self righteousness gives the enemy a foothold to attack our lives.
So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don't fall! 1 Cor. 10:12

Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall. Proverbs 16:18
One of the quotes in Jurrasic Park by Dr. Ian Malcolm was “I'm always on the lookout for the future ex-Mrs. Malcolm.” It was his pessimistic nature, and people can have pessimism about their future. For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he. Proverbs 23:7. I have mixed feelings when you are dating someone with children if they exclude the children from the relationship. My husband and I included the children from the start of our relationship, because we did not plan to fail. I don't make plans for failure in a relationship or friendship, I plan for success. Unlike Dr. Malcolm, I'm not planning to make an ex! God made two types of water and we can only drink from fresh water. We can’t drink from salt water. Our conversations can be life or death.
