Mrs. Spock Reports in Her Human Case Studies: Women are Perfect, Men are Seriously Flawed

Leonard Nimoy, Captain Spock on Star Trek, reminded me of my husband as far as his “That is not logical” and he was very unemotional at times.  My spouse was way up there in intelligence and he told me how he raised the grading curve on tests in school.  I can’t remember anyone ever being annoyed at me in school for raising the test grading curve.  Whenever he got inpatient with me about my learning Advanced Algebra in college, you could easily hear me say like the robot from Lost in Space, “That does not compute.”

I miss my husband’s brainiac ways, I used to hitch-hike off his smarts when I was reading a magazine if I did not know the big words.  He was a walking encyclopedia and great partner for Trivial Pursuit.   My mother was like too, she was good at Jeopardy.  At times my husband would get these attitudes that everyone was stupid, everyone in the house and people in general are all stupid, but him.  My kids and his son, and I joke about it whenever we do something stupid now.  I like what I read in this book on dating “Call it Love or Call it Quits” by Charlie Hedges where the wife says to her husband “Charlie, God may have made you smart, but he made me stupid so I would marry you.”  I’m starting to wonder if that is a common problem with men and their egos?

As the wife of Mrs. Spock, I am going to show you that women are a superior sex.

It may be because we come from Venus and men are from Mars and maybe Venus is a superior planet. Most women I meet will tell you the flaws of their deceased husband, but many men I meet they tell me their wife was an angel.  Therefore, I conclude that women can be perfect. I ran into this behavior when I was divorced before I met my husband in dating and I’ve run into recently in meeting men whose wife is deceased (in a good relationship).  Men will tell me their deceased wife was perfect, but women will tell me their husband had flaws! Therefore, I conclude that women can be perfect….LOL

Many Christian people live under the Old Testament as far the philosophy of an “eye for an eye” and “tooth for a tooth.”  If a person kicks you, you kick them back.  Through the grace of God, when someone mistreats or persecutes you to become perfect, its blessing and loving your enemies back. Praying for those who have hurt you.

But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.  Matthew 5:44-48

There is that word “be perfect.”

Part of becoming perfect in Jesus Christ is recognizing each other’s differences as far as everyone has different DNA, and then learning to accept each other with our differences.

Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God. Romans 15:7
Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. Col. 3:13

Using Agape love with anyone will work. Easy to love sweet little babies and children who are pleasant, but not so easy to love the unlovely.  When that which is perfect is come that which in part will be done away with.  Being perfect is walking in love.

Above all put on charity….. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.  Colossians 3:14

For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. 1 Cor. 13:9-11

We can love a person with their faults.  I don’t find many people who change unless they want to change.

Paul said that we can come to perfection through the five-fold ministry gifts to the Body of Christ.  Currently, mostly only the up-front pastor or priest has been operating in the Body of Christ:  (It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ: Ephesians 4:11-13)

Typically a person with a prophetic gifts does not “tickle” peoples ears.  They are like engineers, computer programmers, working with machines, sales because they fix the problem and they are results-oriented people.   God sent prophets and they tried to fix the problem in Israel and most of them were stoned.  Why do people like ministries like Joel Osteen?  Because we like a hand holder, we want a pat on the back, feel good sermon.  We like plastic surgery, not heart surgery.  Same with politicians.  We don’t want to hear the truth from a politician, we will take a pack of lies and false promises, because we want to lay our burdens down and be free from a lousy economy.  Jesus was a prophet, evangelist, priest (hand holder).  Don’t depart from the faith.  We need the “whole” ministry of the body of Christ, like we need difficult people in our lives. They help perfect our love.

The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. 1 Timothy 4:1

The danger is that many emotional affairs get started this way, so you have to be careful who you seek to be hand-held with. We want to be with a man/woman who has his/her household under control.  Perfect kids.  A man or woman who is perfect. I can tell you all my husband’s flaws and I can tell you his good points.  Some days (depending on what mood I’m in) I can either focus on the positive or negative in our marriage or in my life in general.

And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. James 1:4

One way to become perfect is controlling the tongue.  Many people like to “speak their mind.”  I really don’t want to hear what you have to say, I would rather hear what God has to say through you.  The Bible says that we have the mind of Christ! So much for being stupid!  Get in the word and study and and put on the mind of Christ.  If you have renewed your mind to the word of God than are you speaking the word of God or are you speaking your own mind?  If you never crack open the Bible very often how can you have the mind of Christ?

We all stumble in many ways. If anyone is never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to keep his whole body in check. James 3:2

For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ. 1 Cor. 2:16

It says that the Bereans were of “noble character” because they searched the scriptures.

Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. Acts 17:11
