Does Your Life Look Like Dead Grass? The Latter Rain of Revival

My lawn service guy came out to do some spraying for grubs in my yard, and I asked him what is the point, the lawn looks dead anyway?  He said that the grass is dormant and it is “protecting itself,” it’s not dead.  Sometimes I know in life people go in shut-down mode to protect themselves, and many times it’s right after a death or a divorce.

If you ever lost a spouse, I can speak from experience that you get tired of “tribulating” so you can focus on the judgment of God, or you can get on your knees and pray for revival and God’s latter rain in our hearts.

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.  2 Chronicles 7:14

As a Christian, now I am waiting for the “latter rain” or outpouring of God’s spirit on my life. It’s like the recent rain storms that were needed for our gardens and shrubs.

Be patient, then, brothers, until the Lord's coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop and how patient he is for the autumn and spring rains. James 5:7
then I will send rain on your land in its season, both autumn and spring rains, so that you may gather in your grain, new wine and oil. Duet 11:14
Be glad, O people of Zion, rejoice in the LORD your God, for he has given you the autumn rains in righteousness. He sends you abundant showers, both autumn and spring rains, as before. Joel 2:23

I don’t have to tarry for it because they Holy Spirit has already been sent, but as a Christian seeking the Lord, I’ve increased my prayer and fasting life to seek a second revival of this land more powerful than the Jesus movement or the famous Azusa Street revival.  It will also be a manifestation of God’s power and anointing and his gifts of the spirit.  It talks about that two prophets are coming with the power of Elijah and Moses so this is a wonderful day we live in and as Christians we are to “lift up our heads” for our redemption draws nigh.

Part of getting ready for this revival is to purge ourselves and the biggest purging is backbiting and judging in the body of Christ that seems to be the #1 that God has dealt with me is to pray for others when I don’t like something they do, not to wag my tongue.  If you been given “privileged” information that no one knows about someone than pray about that.

Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. James 4:8
I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer, without anger or disputing. 1 Timothy 2:8
They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, Romans 1:29
For I am afraid that when I come I may not find you as I want you to be, and you may not find me as you want me to be. I fear that there may be quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, factions, slander, gossip, arrogance and disorder. 2 Cor. 12:20

No matter what I say there are some Christians that think Christianity is this list of do’s and don’ts.  It’s because they focus on the outside man like the Pharisees did when Jesus dealt at the heart of the matter (at the root of the tree) and why people do the things they do and Jesus talked about our mouth.

The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire. Matthew 3:10
But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these make a man 'unclean.' Matthew 15:18
What goes into a man's mouth does not make him 'unclean,' but what comes out of his mouth, that is what makes him 'unclean.'" Matthew 15:11
The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell. James 3:6
For, "Whoever would love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful speech. 1 Peter 3:10

Send us the rain Lord, send us the rain.
Send us the latter rain.
We need the rain Lord, we need the rain
We need the latter rain.
