Apollo 13: "Houston we have a problem...I need a specialist." As you get
older you may settle for a family practice doctor but there came a time in my
mother's life she had severe health problems and my mother sought out an
internal medicine doctor. It turned out my mother had gall bladder cancer. Only
2% of the population gets gall bladder cancer, but they did not catch it until
they operated on her and she passed away 3 days later.
Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. Luke 18:1
Mary has great repair shops. In the past, my husband cut corners and took our boat to a mechanic who put car parts on our boat so I make sure now that when I take my boat in a repair shop it’s a boat specialist. I like going to specialist. It’s because God said that we cut corners in our life to save money, but He doesn’t cut corners. He sent his best, he sent his son. It says “with his son he will freely give us all things.” (Roman 8:32). I try to find friends that know what they are doing to help me save money.
I've got cars that are broken, some of them I fixed the same thing over and over. Than if they get wrecked or a deer jumps in front of them, my children wreck them, I just fix them again and again.
Sometimes my boats break down and I've replaced batteries and starters over and over again. I realize that sometimes people don’t know how to start the wave runners and it wears the starters down sooner. Sometimes my house needs repair, like last year it was the furnace and roof. I did a lot of "preventative maintenance" on the furnace to last a couple more years before it broke down according to the ARS place I used to check it regularly and I replace filters on the furnace.
I keep hiring a repair man over and over and over again.
Mary has a broken heart. I keep coming back to God. God I have a broken relationship -been divorced twice. Now, God my heart is broken from losing my husband, I keep coming back over and over. Like the widow who kept going to unjust judge, "Advenge me my adversaries in this life." Sometimes I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel financially at times in life like the widow who said she was going to eat her last cake of oil and die to Elijah. I was scraping the bottom of the barrel on a secretary's salary of $20K to feed five kids when I was divorced and an ex who did not pay child support. I rented out my garage to a man to store cars to supplement my monthly income. Right now I'm working on getting renters to supplement my income.
The woman at the well was discouraged. She had five husbands and the one she was living with was not her husband. She may have given up on marriage by that time. Jesus met her at the well.
(Come near to God and he come near to you, James 4:8)
The man that was blind, Jesus healed the first time and he saw "men as trees walking." Mark 8:24- Jesus laid hands on him again. He needed a second touch of Jesus. Sometimes we need a second touch. Sometimes we need a third touch or maybe you are the woman at the well that needs a fourth, fifth or sixth touch to heal your heart? Thomas Edison did not give up on making a light bulb.
Once more Jesus put his hands on the man's eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly. Mark 8:25
If I have seven husbands who die on me, I'm not giving up! Which in the Bible that did happen! (The same thing happened to the second and third brother, right on down to the seventh. Matthew 22:26)
I have found when it comes to certain healings of the heart and the body it may take more than one touch. I have had hands laid on me at a Bible study for my knee, but I still had knee pain for a while, so I just kept thanking God “I am healed” finally the knee pain went away over a year ago. I’m standing on God’s word. The doctors can’t do anything for it – they can’t heal it. They can only treat the symptoms of pain. Jesus is still the same, yesterday today and forever. (Hebrews 13:8)
Anti-Depressants can only treat the symptoms of the pain.
He said, “I am the alpha (beginning) and the end (Omega). God sees the whole football field of our lives.
Jesus is the great physician who heals our heart and he heals our body. In life we need a "specialist." Like Apollo 13 needed to talk to a specialist.
