Running Your Race Like Politics

I like the story of Secretariat because the owner Penny Chenery, let her horse “run his race.” It reminds me of the upcoming political elections is a person who has a calling to run for office. Let them run their race. Let them say what they believe in, and then we decide if we agree with that person’s agenda.  We can go along with people/person’s agenda or we can vote by conscience. I’m not always happy with every person running for political office, but I vote my conscience.

It's the same in marriage. I find too many people in marriage that hold their partner back from their goals and the innermost desires of their heart rather than helping them achieve their goals.  I was going to college one year when I met my husband (a late bloomer). He helped me with dinner and my four children so I could go to college two nights a week. I was able to get my computer programming degree, and when he passed away I was in my senior computer graphic classes and lower level Math courses.  In turn, I let my husband go have fun with his work friends in snowmobiling, playing cards, white water rafting, bowling, and skiing.

There are people that you just have to let them run their race, let them determine their own course, if they hit an iceberg than let them hit an iceberg, at least I can say he had a good race and lived life to the fullest.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Hebrews 12:1

I was watching the movie, and the Lord spoke to me and He said, “You let your husband run his race in life, you have to let a person run their own race.”
