Lean On Me --Helping Others Through the Death of a Spouse or Child – Part 2

Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2

If it is a burden than it’s not light in life is it? If we are going to carry someone’s burden, we are going to help them with an extra load they have at certain times in their life. This person may be a burden bearer for others that they have carried in the past.

There are different times in people life they have an extra load. It can be sickness like a hospital surgery, serious illness, death of a loved one, losing their job/income, divorce, having a new born baby, etc.

It says we are to carry each other’s burdens. How do we carry another person’s burden – one is through prayer, and one is through encouragement and love. It is doing our part, what God lays on our heart to decrease that person’s pain and suffering in in this world. It’s “fulfilling the law of Christ (love) is to become a burden bearer of others.

When I broke my ankle, I went to get an x-ray and this attendant said to a woman with a broken hip who was having a hard time walking, “Lean on me.” When I get down at times about the body of Christ not walking in love, the Lord reminds me that he has a whole bunch of good Samaritans called the health care field. A majority of my close Christian girlfriends are in the nursing profession and are great hand holders.
