The War of The Worlds and Where Is Our Citizenship?

In H.G. Wells novel of the War of the Worlds what killed the aliens who wanted to take over the earth was that they were not born on earth to adapt to microscopic organisms. Our bodies have adapted to them. Jesus talked about to enter the kingdom of God, we have to born of the earth (water), and then born of the spirit of God.

Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, 'You must be born again.' John 3:6-7

We live in a hostile world with different types of flu and cold viruses, diseases, illnesses that try to attack our body. Our bodies are very fragile. My husband was allergic to dust mites and it bothered him whenever I swept with a broom or cleaned a clothes dryer dust screen. He went into an asthmatic attack in walking into a hay barn. My spouse never got the victory over asthma in this life, but he got the victory over those organisms in the new life ---he can now breathe freely.  Our bodies are from this physical planet as Christians, but we have a new spiritual citizen. Our citizenship is of God.

But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, Philip 3:20
Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God-- children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God. John 1:12-13

Jesus talked about things that rust and get corrupted on this earth. I consider if I go buy a new car, that someone in a parking lot is just itching to put a dent in my new car. (Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. Matthew 6:19)

What is worse than being in a hostile world (environment) is if we are being hostile towards God. (Because the carnal mind (sinful nature) is enmity (hostile) against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God. You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. Roman 8:7-9)

The stage is being set for a promise of a Utopia society by the false prophet and the anti-Christ. This scripture talks about many people sin because they have no hope of a better future or a better tomorrow. As things get worse on this earth is when the anti-Christ will be raised up to promise a better tomorrow. It says where there is no vision (word from God), people cast off restraint. (Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; but blessed is he who keeps the law. Proverbs 29:18)

Notice in the NT it talks about God's people "are" the restraint ----it's God's word going out that causes restrain...through the power of the spirit inside of us.
(For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way.2 Thess 2:7)

When Peter walked on the water with Jesus was the first time the disciples worshiped him as God. Job continued to worship the Lord through his trials. Honoring God in our life in the difficult times when there is not an abundance of food on the table, money in the bank account, the pets or livestock have all died. I like this scripture because it talks about our sovereign Lord. (Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The Sovereign LORD is my strength! He makes me as surefooted as a deer, able to tread upon the heights. Habakkuk 3:19)

"Come," he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. Matthew 14:29 vs. 32-33 And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, "Truly you are the Son of God."

We focus a lot on the printed word, but the apostle Paul said we are to be a “living” Bible. They did not have the written word until Paul was in jail and started writing the epistles and same way with the other apostles who sat down and starting writing it. (You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everybody. 2 Cor. 3:2)
