Are You a Tasmanian Devil or a Full Throttle Christian?

The enemy would like to make our lives a whirlwind of activity like a Tasmanian Devil. Where we become like Martha stressed out with a number of cares and busy running around all the time.  But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, Luke 10:41
Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? Matthew 6:27
There are times I am busy with work, family, going to single ministries, and many times I’m praying as I’m driving in my car.  My car is like my bubble or my chariot.  I was on the lake Saturday and I was praying while I was riding my wave runner.  A little boy was wondering who I was talking to that I was giving a ride to, and I told him I talk to God while I’m on the lake.  It’s very peaceful and I love talking to the Lord. So rather than be a Tasmanian Devil Christian, I want to be a full throttle Christian.

It takes gas to run my boat or wave runners and when I put the throttle on full speed they run fast on the lake.  Life to me, is the word of God is the gas and the throttle is my tongue in prayer.  Keeping an active prayer life (1 Thess 5:17: Never stop praying.)
The “earnest” prayer has great power and produces wonderful results.   Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results. Elijah was a man just like us. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. James 5:16-17

Daniel had to persist 21 days against an evil angel to get his prayer request.
But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia. Daniel 10:13
I was a good match for my husband as a new Christian, because he had this tendency to be like the Tsmanian Devil in getting flustered about things when he was under stress.  Back in my twenty’s after having twin babies, I was so overwhelmed, I started learning to rely more on God for his supernatural strength.  Handling two new babies was beyond my natural strength, and I was going through a separation with my ex-husband so I had the entire emotional and financial burden.  I find the same thing now that many times in life I’m overwhelmed, but my strength is in Jesus Christ, and I find my peace or a "second wind" I receive in life is from Him.  I “call upon his name” knowing that he is standing by to help me in time of need and give me a second wind.
Save, O Lord; May the King answer us in the day we call. Psalm 20:9
I call on you, O God, for you will answer me; give ear to me and hear my prayer. Psalm 17:6
Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:16
When I am overwhelmed in life, I cry out to Jesus to save me.  I also have gone through periods of grieving or sorrow in my life where I accepted not only what Jesus did on the cross for my sins, but that he bore my sorrows and grief on the cross as he took my sins.  He has born my pain and suffering and I have the victory through Christ.  This includes healing.  I lay hands on my own body and thank the Lord for my healing on the cross.  I also lay hands on my grandchildren and loved ones and pray for their healings.  I am exercising faith like going to the gym to exercise where you build up muscles.  I started with praying for headaches and other healings in life.  I prayed for parking spaces at work at lunch at the college where I work.  Starting with little requests of faith to God and exercising my faith muscles.  I've been having victory in the area of knee pain so it does not hinder an active outside boating life.  When I get a pain in my knees, I lay hands on my knees and thank Jesus for my healing.

Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. Isaiah 53:4
He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed. 1 Peter 2:24
They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won't hurt them. They will be able to place their hands on the sick, and they will be healed." Mark 16:18

My husband's best friend tried to raise chickens but they had a hawk that enjoyed killing them when the chickens got out of the chicken coop.   The hawk did not want to eat them, but it was the sport of killing them.  I’m not called to scratch around in a hen house with chickens for left overs.  I’m called to soar with the wings of eagles.  If you are soaring up in the air, than when you look down at any giants on the earth, those giants look very small.  I remember going up in my dad’s small plane and everything looks very tiny when you are soaring above it.  God wants us to soar above the storms in life.
But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31
It’s entering into God’s rest.  If I’m busy “waiting” on the Lord like a waitress who waits on tables than I’m busy in God’s work and I know my provision and my needs are met from my heavenly Father.
Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.  Psalm 27:14
David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning him; each one was bitter in spirit because of his sons and daughters. But David found strength in the Lord his God. 1 Samuel 30:6
I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I put my hope. Psalm 130:5
When I keep my prayer life active, I stay in the "rest" of God so the works I do are doing them through God and it's through his strength not my own.  I don't have to "strive" to try to find a relationship, make a relationship work, get my financial needs met, or fret about other things in my life, because I'm resting and trusting in my heavenly Father like a child trusts in his/her mother or father's word that they are going to the store or on vacation.   I may ask my heavenly Father "Are we there yet?" but that is another lesson on patience. LOL
Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it. Hebrews 4:1 v. 10 For all who have entered into God's rest have rested from their labors, just as God did after creating the world.
